Trades Map Panic Attack

Last Monday, during my ancient history class, we were all working on and ancient trades route map. We had a blank map in front of us and we had to copy the projected trade routes. To be completely honest, I suck at geography, I can look at a blank map for hours and never be able to tell you what anything is, so this assignment was hard enough before the trade routes.

The first civilization's trade route was easy to copy as it was just 1 curvy line. The second was somewhat more complicated but as soon as I looked at the third, I instantly started hyperventilating. If I am being totally honest with you, I felt so stupid. I was having a PANIC ATTACK over a dumb map! It was just a little map with a bunch of squiggly lines on a screen in my classroom. I was completely safe. No one was gonna hurt me.

I have realized that this was #1 due to the lack of sleep I've been getting. I am still having a lot of trouble functioning, and I can't even go to school consistently. Secondly it's due to how chaotic that map was. I can't handle when things like that are such a mess and I can't control it.

What I've learned from this is to focus on what I can control, like breathing for example.
